Soulmate is for adults only
You must be 18 or older to use Soulmate. Everyone confirms their date of birth when signing up, and accounts that show signs of belonging to someone under 18 are removed. Selfie verification and photo moderation help us spot accounts that are not what they claim to be.
What is prohibited
The following are banned on Soulmate, without exception, and lead to an immediate permanent ban and a report to the authorities where the law allows or requires:
- Any content that sexualises a minor, including images, video, drawings, AI-generated material, text or links (CSAM).
- Grooming: building a relationship with a child, or with an adult to reach a child, for sexual purposes.
- Sextortion: threatening to share intimate images of a minor, or demanding images, money or sex.
- Trafficking, or advertising or soliciting a child for sexual purposes, including child marriage arrangements.
- Anyone under 18 using the app, or an adult creating an account for a minor.
- Sharing, requesting or trading any of the above, or explaining how to find it.
How we prevent harm
- Age gate: an 18+ age check at sign-up; the app does not accept a birth date under 18.
- Matches-only contact: nobody can message or call someone unless both people liked each other.
- Photo moderation: every profile and chat photo is checked automatically before it is shown, and anything flagged goes to a person.
- Message safety checks: automated checks flag likely abuse and exploitation patterns for review.
- Selfie verification: confirms the person matches their photos.
- Trained reviewers: reports about children are handled first, by people, not only by automation.
- Banned users stay out: we keep the records needed to stop banned people from coming back.
How to report
In the app
Open the person's profile, a chat, or a call screen, tap the menu, and choose Report, then pick "Minor or child safety". You can also block them right away. Reports are confidential; the reported person is not told who reported them.
By email
Write to support@dreamithq.com with the subject "Child safety report". Include the person's name as shown in the app, and screenshots if you have them. You don't need a Soulmate account to report.
Directly to authorities
- Bangladesh: 999 (National Emergency Service), 1098 (Child Helpline), or your nearest police station.
- Anywhere: the NCMEC CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org, or the Internet Watch Foundation at report.iwf.org.uk.
Please do not download, save or forward abusive images, even to report them. Describe where you saw them instead.
What we do with reports
- Child safety reports go to the top of the review queue.
- We remove the content and suspend the account while we review.
- Where CSAE is confirmed, the account is permanently banned.
- We preserve the evidence securely and report confirmed CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to the relevant authorities, including Bangladesh law enforcement, as required by law.
- We cooperate with valid requests from law enforcement.
Compliance with the law
We comply with child safety laws that apply to us, including the laws of Bangladesh, and with Google Play's policies on child sexual abuse and exploitation. These standards are reviewed at least once a year.
